The Left and Islamofascism: A Strange and Troubling Alliance, Part Two [Video]

Part one of this series explored the deepening and disturbing alliance between Islamofascism and Leftist political and media machines particularly in the United States.  Here we will focus on the most troubling part of this alliance, the entanglement of the Left-leaning ‘Christian’ churches around the world with the Islamic movement.

This portion of the unofficial alliance involves churches on both sides of the Reformation divide. Catholicism has its portion within this alliance from the Pope and throughout the hierarchy of the church.

Most of the Protestant churches involved are in cooperation with or are members of the World Council of Churches. In both cases, it is the Leftist application of the so-called “social justice gospel,” that is employed to form and continue this unholy alliance.

Two points need to be clear as we continue. First, at every level, it is the leadership of these church bodies that are responsible for embracing the expansionist intentions of Islamofascists. The plain people in the pews are generally apathetic about or ignorant of these machinations.

The second point is that many in the leadership of these churches do not comprehend the true motivation of those with whom they align themselves. Jihadists are not always forthcoming with their actual intentions, and some can be notoriously patient while waiting to carry out their plans.

Embracing a Global Islamic Invasion Through Immigration

Most conservatives would say that embracing anything Islamofascism favors is madness. However, there is a sinister method to this madness which requires the Leftward churches to embrace some crucial factors.

This method began in modern times by the Leftist churches embracing an immigration invasion of Muslims chiefly in Europe. The most significant Muslim immigration has happened since 2010.

The immigration numbers support a suspicion that this is an attempt to invade and overwhelm the various governments of the European Union and the nations Sweden and Norway. Most disturbing of all is how much the churches on that continent are supportive of opening the nations to massive and unchecked immigration of Muslims who categorically oppose Christianity itself!

This philosophy of the Left turns the goal of Christianity, the salvation of individual sinners, on its head and makes it a political goal for society overall. In other words, unlike Jesus, the focus of the Leftward church is the transformation of society politically instead of the transformation of the soul.

On the Catholic side of the ledger, there is the instance of the Vatican vociferously disagreeing with the Italian government about Muslim migration. The unusual bout of disagreement happened in 2018 when the Italian government wanted to shut off the migration spigot, and the response of the Church was to suggest this would be non-Christian.

An illustrative example from the Leftward Protestants comes via the United Church of Christ. A presentation of one particular UCC congregation in the state of Virginia promoted open migration of Muslim ‘refugees’ and denounced objections to such as “Islamophobia,” in June of 2017.

“One of the real gifts that Islam brings is an understanding of what it is to have a country with diverse religious viewpoints,” stated Rev. Dr. David B. Lindsey on June 11 at the Little River United Church of Christ (UCC) in Northern Virginia. Befitting the declining UCC’s leftwing, anti-Israel politics, his roseate understanding of Islam set the tone for Little River UCC’s biased, superficial presentation on “Faith in Film: Refugees and Islamophobia.”

I have no cogent explanation for the meaning of Lindsey’s first statement. Any cursory examination of Islam reveals virtually zero tolerance for diverse “religious viewpoints.”

The presentation was held before a small crowd in the sanctuary of the Church building. It consisted of a viewing,

…three short films in the Little River UCC sanctuary followed by a discussion between Lindsay and Zainab Arain from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The entire presentation was directed toward enabling and encouraging massive Muslim migration which was burgeoning at that time. A reflection of the recently increased Muslim presence is the also recent presence of anti-Semitism within the Leftward churches.

Embracing Anti-Semitism in ‘Christ’s’ Name

Leftist churches globally have been embracing anti-Semitism directed against the Jewish homeland of Israel. One such example is from an Episcopal Church gathering of anti-Israel groups in Bethesda, Maryland in 2018. 

Zionism is like cancer and an “obscenity of Judaism and the Christian religion,” stated a female audience member during a March 11 film screening event at Bethesda, Maryland’s St. John’s Norwood Episcopal Church …The audience member… was in sympathetic company at St. John’s Norwood. Father Sari Ateek, who introduced himself to this author during the event, presides over the congregation and is the son of the Palestinian Anglican priest Naim Ateek, a leader of the anti-Israel Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center.

This is an annual gathering of Leftist Jews, Christians, and Muslims who take turns bashing anything at all that favors Israel’s existence. However, this is hardly a singular Leftist church effort targeting the Jewish homeland.

Earlier in 2018, a similar event was held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. One of the featured speakers was,

A previous article in this journal highlighted a January 2019 report concerning the WCC’s anti-Semitic stances against Israel in recent years. One of those highlights discussed in the report centers around a group of 1800 volunteers who spent many weeks in Judea and Samaria with Palestinians and ‘balanced’ that with a one-day visit to Israel.

Of course, the results of this ‘training’ fit the bias of the churches denouncing any attempt at self-defense from Israel against the ‘Palestinians.’ Moreover, the sentiments exclusively condemned Israel and defended her enemies.

When (the 1,800) volunteers return to their home countries and churches, they engage in anti-Israel advocacy, such as BDS (boycotts, divestment, and sanctions) campaigns and comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany.

One might reasonably inquire, “Why would church groups that claim allegiance to Christ embrace the enemies of Judaism and Christianity?” The answer lies within the Leftward churches faulty, unbiblical beliefs.

These church organizations claim fidelity to Jesus while adhering to a Leftist  ‘ecumenical’ theology that considers all “faiths” valid. That incongruence will be examined in the final part of this series.

Much like the Pharisees of Jesus’ day, the leaders of these Leftward churches follow their own teaching twisted and torn from God’s Word. In the same fashion, they believe they know better than Christ who warned His disciples against such false teaching.

“How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Matthew 16:11-12 [ESV]
